Come join us, keeper of safe fires!

Campfire Stories is a friendly Friday evening event for East Bay kids, ages 4-10 and their grownups. It features live music, a story by the fire, and then socializing and s’mores. Campfire Stories is currently held at Mariposa Garden, which is an intimate private space in North Oakland. Possible future location is Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. 

What Campfire Stories notably does NOT feature is fire-related catastrophes! That’s where you come in!

We provide:

  • A metal fire pit

  • Firewood and fire starter and matches

  • A fire extinguisher and fire blanket

We’re looking for volunteer fire-tenders who would find it fun to be at the event, and also to:

  • Start a fire

  • Keep an eye on it through the evening

  • Use the fire extinguisher or fire blanket should it be necessary

  • Friday May 22, fire tender call time 6:00 PM, event ends 8:30 PM

  • Friday July 31, fire tender call time 6:00 PM, event ends 8:30 PM

  • Friday September 25, fire tender call time 5:30 PM, event ends 7:30 PM
